Two sit-ins are taking place simultaneously; one before Prime Minister Najib Mikati's Tripoli home and one in Achrafieh's Sassine Square. Partisans taking part in the civil demonstration are hoisting Lebanese flags amid lit candles in solidarity with the victims of the Achrafieh blast.

The sit-in in Sassine Square was called forth by March 14 youth groups whereas March14 Feminist groups gathered before the residence the PM in Tripoli and lit candles that form the name of the Martyr Brig. Gen. Wissam al-Hassan.

The program of the gathering includes a moment of silence to remember the martyrs. Afterward, a statement on behalf of March14 youth organization will be issued, and the march will start towards the Grand Serail.

The Future Bloc's representative in Sassine Square said that demonstrators will remain until PM Mikati’s resigns from cabinet.

“We stand in solidarity with the victims of Achrafieh’s explosion,” he added.

Both demonstrations are calling for the resignation of the current cabinet. Sources to LBCI said that this demonstration will be a prelude for a series of other activities.

Participants stress that their gathering is peaceful.
