Introduction to the evening news 24-10-2012

Regardless of political conciliations, a common vision regarding the cabinet hasn’t been reached yet.

March14 forces are insisting on the government’s resignation while March8 forces are prioritizing national dialogue to discuss political matters including the position of the current cabinet.

As for external positions, the US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton expressed her refusal for any political void in Lebanon that “Syria can exploit”. This as French Foreign Affairs Minister Laurent Fabius asked the Lebanese parties "not to drag their country into the Syrian demise."

Meanwhile speaking to LBCI, Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon Ali Awad Asiri said that the governmental political affairs pertaining to the country are internal matters agreed upon by the Lebanese people.

The political crisis however was offset by a security breakthrough.

The situation in Tripoli is garnering normality as arms are being seized. Meanwhile the human tragedy caused in the last few days unravels.

Various families are now displaced, 8 persons are dead, and more than 100 others are wounded.

In the meantime, a judicial event emerged on Wednesday but was quickly transformed into a malicious rumor.

Shortly after the decision of the Court of Cassation within the framework of the complaint raised by the "Lebanese Forces" against both Sheikh Pierre Daher and LBCI, media sources and some news websites reported “the ownership of LBCI by the Lebanese Forces.”

This hasty conclusion that drives far from the final decision does not affect LBCI as much as it does not affect its political affiliation and objectivity; an affiliation that will not change before the court’s decision.
