Jreisati: Itani to be released soon, positive indicators on other detainees

Labor Minister Salim Jreisati said on Monday that the Lebanese journalist Fidaa Itani, who was detained by the Syrian rebels in Aazaz on Saturday, will be released very soon.

Jreisati said after the meeting of the ministerial committee commissioned to follow up the case of the Lebanese detainees in Syria, that there are positive indicators in this case and will soon be revealed.

He also urged all Lebanese journalists to be very careful while covering the incidents in Syria.

Earlier, the Facebook page of the Aazaz Rebels reported on Saturday that the Syrian rebels have detained Lebanese journalist Fidaa Itani. For more details please follow this link

On the 20th of May, eleven Lebanese pilgrims were kidnapped on their way back from Iran by Syrian insurgents hoping to use them for a prisoner swap. So far, only two were released.
