Army: All meetings of Army Commander are announced in official statements

The Lebanese Army Command - Directorate of Orientation issued on Wednesday the following:

"A local daily published this morning news about a meeting between Amy Commander General Joseph Aoun and Saudi Ambassador Walid Al-Bukhari, held away from the limelight.

The Army Command is keen to clarify that all the meetings of the Army Commander are announced in official statements issued daily by the army's official website, and that the said meeting with the Saudi Ambassador did not take place as claimed by the newspaper. The Command also underlines that it welcomes any meeting aiming to support the military institution, especially amid the current exceptional circumstances.

The Army Command calls upon media means to remain accurate while disseminating news relevant to the military institution, and to turn to the institution to fact-check information before their publication."
