Traveler carrying counterfeit US dollars arrested at Beirut Airport

The state-run National News Agency reported on Wednesday that the Internal Security Forces at the Rafic Hariri International Airport arrested on Tuesday morning a Lebanese traveler identified only by his initials as A. Y. carrying a travel bag containing forged dollars amounting at USD 119,350.

The counterfeit money was hidden in a professional and innovative way.

During the investigations, the traveler confessed that he was traveling to Turkey using a travel ticket paid for by a Lebanese national residing in Turkey identified only by his initials as Kh. H. and to whom the money-loaded bag belonged.

The investigations are still ongoing under the competent judiciary.
