The Vatican's foreign minister stressed on Friday that the Vatican alone cannot help Lebanon, adding that he believes that the entire International community “should stand by this country.”
We wanted from the meeting that will be held on July 1st to form a common vision with the heads of sects so that we would have clarity in the vision and to act as necessary," he added.
This as Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Cardinal Leonardo Sandri, Prefect of the Congregation for the Oriental Churches, and the Vatican's Minister of Foreign Affairs Archbishop Pietro Caliger, participated in a press conference on Lebanon.
The three officials stressed the importance of the meeting on July 1 which will not include prayers only but will a series of solidarity initiatives will also follow it.
