Rai from Baabda: Hariri must accelerate formation of a new government

Maronite Patriarch Bechara Rai said on Wednesday that the speech of Pope Francis is a roadmap for the heads of churches, adding that they kick start their work within their ecclesiastical framework to implement the roadmap.

Rai’s comments were made after meeting with President Michel Aoun at the Baabda Presidential Palace.

“We call on those concerned and we will begin our contacts and work with them,” he added following the meeting.

Rai called on Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri to "accelerate the formation of a new government with President Aoun in accordance with the constitution.”
