Sleiman calls for turning the page on the past

President Michel Sleiman called for steering clear of political debates and turning the page on the past during a speech on Monday.

Sleiman also urged all concerned parties to be vigilant against media reports given that they lack credibility and do not reflect reality most of the time. “Published reports do not convey the real nature of relationships between leaders and officials and they fan the fire of conflict”, he added.

On the other hand, Interior Minister Marwan Charbel briefed Sleiman on the security situation in Lebanon and handed him a copy of the electoral law, drafted by the ministry late September.
