President of the Republic Michel Aoun affirmed on Monday that the visit to Qatar is an expression of the depth of friendship between the countries, noting that Qatar’s support for Lebanon after the port explosion is much appreciated.
In an interview with the Qatari newspaper al-Raya, Aoun considered that Qatari diplomacy is present in regional and international forums, and the world today needs to give priority to the language of reason and dialogue over the language of fighting and subordination.
He said, "I will call on Sheikh Tamim to direct investment in Lebanon, especially since the land is fertile at the moment."
Aoun made it clear that he is with the separation of powers, stressing that he does not interfere in the work of the judiciary and does not know the circumstances of the port explosion. He did not see the photos provided by Russia, but rather requested that they be handed over to the judiciary.
He pointed out that political wrangling and personal considerations prevented the implementation of the electricity plan, and those who obstructed have become known to all Lebanese.
He considered that his saying "I will not surrender the vacuum" was wrongly invested and an extension was out of the question, and the new president should enjoy proper representation and be an element of convergence, not discrimination.
