Amos visits Lebanon to evaluate Syrian refugees’ situation

The UN News Centre announced on Monday that Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Valerie Amos will arrive in Lebanon on the evening of Tuesday 27th of November 2012 to evaluate the situation of Syrian refugees in Lebanon and the humanitarian aid they are receiving.

The center added that Amos will also meet with Lebanese PM Najib Mikati on Wednesday 28th at the Grand Serail.

The two will be discussing how the UN and other humanitarian partners can support in the best possible way the national efforts exerted to satisfy the needs of the Syrian refugees. They will also tackle the deteriorated humanitarian situation in Syria and the region.

Following her meeting with Mikati, Amos will hold a press conference at the Serail.
