Head of The Constitutional Council Judge Tannous Mechleb pointed out on Tuesday during an interview with the Council after discussing the appeal of Strong Lebanon Bloc that “the Constitutional Council did not manage to reach a majority of 7 members on all the points raised, and therefore the electoral law is in effect.”

He also said that they failed to issue a decision, and “there are things that were subject of legal dispute in addition to agreed topics,” adding that “after 7 continuous sessions they did not reach a unified opinion.”

“Elections will take place in accordance with the law established by the House of Representatives,” Judge Mechleb stated.
