Mikati from Bkerke: Elections will held in due time

Premiere Najib Mikati said on Friday from Bkerke that building a nation should be based on unity and partnership, and all parties must meet together in light of the situation facing the country.

After meeting with Patriarch Cardinal Bechara Boutros Rai, Mikati said no party should boycott institutional work and added that elections will take place on due time.

Regarding the Syrian situation, Mikati said that the cabinet had been following the self-distancing policy since the onset of the crisis, but did not oblige a certain position on any faction.

It is worth mentioning that various political & social delegations headed to Bkerke to congratulate Patriarch Rai for receiving the Cardinal insignia from the Vatican.

Delegations also included educational figures as well as priests, bishops, and monks.
