Hariri meets with Syrian Coalition delegation in Riyadh

Former PM Saad Hariri met on Tuesday in his residence in Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh, with a delegation of the new Syrian opposition coalition presided by Ahmad Moaz Al-Khatib.

In this context, Hariri’s bureau issued a statement in which it revealed that the former prime minister discussed with the delegation the goals the coalition is trying to achieve, “especially when the opposition is close to victory.”

The statement added that Hariri reiterated his utmost support to the Syrian revolution and its political leaders, praising the efforts the coalition is exerting to unify the Syrian opposition and to prepare for the transitional phase.

“We, in Lebanon, are looking forward for the day the wishes of the Syrian people to have a democratic regime come true, the day when the despotic era will come to an end. Supporting the opposition and the Syrian Coalition’s leaders is our responsibility and we won’t back down no matter what,” Hariri stated.
