Bouchikian: Pharmaceutical factory tours aim to assure of the quality of pharmaceutical production in Lebanon
Minister of Industry George Bouchikian stated on Tuesday that the tour he is conducting with Minister of Health Firas Abiad on a number of pharmaceutical factories aims to assure the local and international public opinion of the quality of pharmaceutical production in Lebanon, its conformity with international standards, the size of the large investments in this sector, and the factory owners' willingness to place new investments as evidence of their development vision.

He also stated that such actions demonstrate these industrialists' and initiators' determination to succeed in the fields of medicine, drugs, and health, as well as the manufacture of new medicines for local and export markets under licenses of international companies.

Bouchikian also stated that he has conducted several factory tours and held periodic meetings with the Syndicate of Pharmaceutical Factory Owners, emphasizing the importance of overcoming the financing obstacles confronting this sector in order for it to continue to expand and compete to bring hard currencies into Lebanon and to lower the medicines bill forthe state, guarantors, and citizens.
