Beirut Governor comments on banners and advertisements of candidates

Governor of Beirut Judge Marwan Abboud commented on Thursday on some candidates for the parliamentary elections hanging pictures, banners and advertisements related to their electoral campaign, and that some people, institutions and companies are taking the opportunity to publish their advertisements and posters, in various streets of the capital, on lighting poles, in public properties and on the walls of buildings, in a way that violates the law and without prior licenses.

In order to preserve the civilized face of the capital, Abboud voiced hope that all concerned people will “abide by the laws and regulations in force and apply for the necessary licenses in accordance with the rules, or remove these images and advertisements wherever they are found, otherwise they will be removed at their expense and responsibility.”
