PM Mikati: We are assured of return of serenity to Lebanon's relations with Arab countries

Prime Minister Najib Mikati stressed on Thursday that the upcoming elections will take place on time and that the required credit lines are being secured.

As for the economic recovery plan, he praised the effort made by the committee headed by Deputy Prime Minister Saadeh al-Chami in terms of negotiating with the International Monetary Fund, saying: "Despite all the negative atmosphere that is being circulated, the government is making a great effort.”

“Security is stable compared to what it was before, aid for the neediest families is handled by the Ministry of Social Affairs without political clientelism, and money is distributed to the neediest families,” he added.

"We are assured of the return of serenity to Lebanon's relations with Arab countries, notably with the Gulf Cooperation Council countries," Mikati said of ties with Arab countries. "God willing, we will continue steps to strengthen and enhance these relations." 

“Despite all the negative atmospheres that are being spread, we are convinced that we are doing all the required work from us,” he concluded by saying.
