Pope Francis visit to Lebanon postponed until a later date
Pope Francis' visit to Lebanon has been officially postponed on Monday until a later date.

The postponement was due to health reasons, according to LBCI information.

Later in the day, Minister of Tourism Walid Nassar, who heads the Supreme Committee for the preparations of the stay of the Supreme Pontiff said in a statement that Lebanon received a letter from the Vatican officially informing of the decision to postpone the scheduled visit of the Supreme Pontiff to Lebanon.

The letter added that the new date of the visit will be announced as soon as it is set.

Nassar stated that His Holiness Pope Francis' foreign visits and appointments have been postponed due to health concerns, wishing His Holiness a speedy recovery.
