Geagea: other party's language of murder cuts the path to dialogue

Lebanese Forces Chief Samir Geagea stressed on Wednesday that a "certain political team" sought forcibly controlling the country, not through elections or any other democratic means.

He said that the language of murder adopted by the "other camp was mainly behind his party's refusal to participate in dialogue, parliament sessions, parliamentary committees' meetings and so on."

Geagea saw "that the situation in Syria is escalating and the regime should be overthrown any time now."

"The 'tails' of this regime in Lebanon will have no other choice but to fall with it."

He noted that "some of them" have weapons what could make the political confrontation a bit harder. "But we will proceed, till the end. No matter how hard they try, they will never be able to defeat us."

Geagea also stressed that "Christians are at the heart of the Arab Spring and our position is clear in this regard. We support the people's right to self-determination."

The Lebanese Forces leader made these remarks during his meeting with a delegation from Brih town visiting him in Maarab. He stressed that the dossier of the displaced would come to a happy ending whenever efforts are joined.
