Gemayel criticizes Syrian warrants against Hariri and Sakr

Kataeb Party leader Amin Gemayel described on Thursday the Syrian arrest warrants against former Prime Minister Saad Hariri and Deputy Oqab Sakr as “surreal”.

"It's clear that Syria has lost its temper," he told "Voice of Lebanon"-Freedom and Dignity radio, stressing that the Syrian regime "lives in another time."

Gemayel confirmed Kataeb party's complete solidarity with PM Hariri concerning the Syrian warrants, pointing out that Hariri paid no attention to this issue because he knew that the regime would soon be ousted.

Gemayel also criticized the state for distancing itself from the issue of these arrest warrants.

"The Lebanese state should defend its citizens, take a united position, implement laws and refuse the Syrian measure through the constitution which provides minimum immunity and protection of the Lebanese officials in the state," he concluded.
