Caretaker Tourism Minister Walid Nassar announced on Thursday during an interview with Nharkom Said TV show on LBCI that he will issue a circular today, giving tourist establishments the right to price in USD, while payments can remain in Lebanese pounds.
“The indicators we have obtained from the private sector indicate that the summer will be very promising in terms of tourism,” Nassar stated.
“One of the positive things that came out of COVID-19 is the internal ecological and religious tourism, which has been quite active,” he mentioned.
He then encouraged tourists to spend foreign currency in Lebanon, noting that “the state’s treasury and the tourist institutions will both profit.”
