US official Hochstein tours Lebanese officials-[VIDEO+PHOTOS]
Lebanese Armed Forces Commander General Joseph Aoun received on Tuesday US Senior Advisor for Global Energy Security Amos Hochstein and the accompanying delegation in the presence of the US Ambassador Dorothy Shea, whereby they discussed the issue of the maritime border demarcation.
 
During the meeting, Aoun underlined the military institution's position in support of any decision made by the political authority in this regard.
 
Later in the day, Hochstein held a meeting with President Michel Aoun, who emphasized Lebanon's “sovereign rights to water and natural resources,” and presented a response to the American proposal that Hochstein had presented months earlier, provided that Hochstein convey the Lebanese position to the Israeli side within the next few days.
 
President Aoun also wished Hochstein to “return to Lebanon quickly with the Israeli response.”
 
Hochstein was then received by Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati, who informed him of the unified Lebanese position on border demarcation.
 
Mikati also mentioned that Lebanon's supreme interest is in initiating the oil drilling process without relinquishing Lebanon's right to all of its wealth.
 
This as US official Hochstein met also Caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdallah Bou Habib, and left without making a statement.
