Lebanon's top Sunni religious authority Mufti Sheikh Abdel Latif Derian asserted on Monday that the binding parliamentary consultations set to be held on Thursday to name a new prime minister is a “commitment that must be honored by choosing someone who enjoys wisdom and knowledge and has a clear vision to deal with the difficult situation that the country is going through.”
During his meetings with MPs, Mufti Derian said that the Dar al-Fatwa embraces all Lebanese with no discrimination.
He also called on all political sides in the Parliament to cement their ranks and words in order to name a new prime minister who will be entrusted to form a new cabinet that will carry out the necessary reforms to exit the country out of its financial, economic and social crisis and to elect a new president.”
