Syrian Ambassador: the targeting of the Yarmouk Camp is a conspiracy against Syria

Following his meeting with former PM Salim El Hoss, Syrian Ambassador to Lebanon Ali Abdel Karim Ali said on Friday that “targeting the Yarmouk Palestinian refugee camp and other similar camps in Syria is a conspiracy against the Syrian state which had long adopted the Palestinian cause.”

Ali added that “those who are trying to drag the Palestinians into the Syrian conflict are the same people who are recruiting the Syrian, Palestinian and Lebanese young men and encouraging them to fight in battles alongside ‘terrorists’ from Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Chechnya.”

According to the ambassador, “Syria appreciates any effort to solve the Syrian crisis and endeavors to achieve national dialogue against those who incited the Syrian war, among them the USA and its allies Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Turkey.”
