Lebanese University contract teachers organize a protest near the Baabda Palace

Lebanese University contract teachers organized a protest on Thursday on the road leading to the Baabda Palace where the cabinet is currently convening.

The protesters called for equity with the full-time teachers, urging the cabinet "to isolate this case from politics and give back the university its administrative and academic independence."

In this context, Dr Hassan Ismail demanded the reconsideration of the files of all the contract teachers and granting the adequate candidates permanent tenure.
