Introduction to the evening news 28-12-2012

   
In a method similar to a diplomatic opportunity, the UN International Peace Envoy to Syria Lakhdar Brahimi is trying to reach a settlement from Moscow to solve the Syrian crisis.

                    
Despite the efforts that the latter is exerting, his attempts are colliding with the Syrian regime and the Syrian opposition at once: the regime pre-empted Brahimi's arrival to Moscow by sending the Deputy Foreign Minister, and the opposition declared that a solution will not be reached if President Bashar Assad did not step aside.                                   


Locally, the cabinet held yesterday its final session for the year 2012 whereby it approved to fix the salaries of the members of the Petroleum Administration Committee.                   

Meanwhile, the governor of Banque Du Liban Riad Salameh conducted a financial study for the year 2012 and it turned out to be discouraging.       

As for national dialogue and the elections, these files were postponed till the first week of the new year.
