LACC praises demarcation of maritime borders, calls for demarcation of land borders
The Lebanese American Coordinating Committee (LACC) issued on Monday a statement in which it praised the diplomatic efforts deployed by the US to bring the indirect negotiations between Lebanon and Israel to a close.

The LACC stated in the statement that it is closely monitoring the situation in Lebanon at all constitutional, political, economic, social, and sovereign levels and while it acknowledges the urgency and complexity of the current situation, it sees this as a chance to save Lebanon, restore its sovereignty, and safeguard its identity.

The Committee praised the "diplomatic efforts made by the United States to conclude the indirect negotiations between Lebanon and Israel, which led to an agreement on the demarcation of the maritime borders, "paving the way for a state of stability," while emphasizing the significance of upholding the 1949 agreement and fully implementing Resolutions 1701, 1559, and 1680

“The demarcation of maritime borders requires insisting on opening the entire way for demarcation of the land borders without any delay, and controlling the border crossings to stop smuggling,” the statement added.

On another note, the Committee stressed the need to elect a sovereign and reformist president who implements the Constitution and launches, in cooperation with a homogeneous government, a reformist rescue vision on the financial, economic and social levels.

The LACC also called for the formation of a new government in accordance with the requirements of the constitution.
