Diab announces comprehensive education rescue plan

Education Minister Hassan Diab announced his comprehensive education rescue plan on Monday for the public education sector, vocational, technical and higher education as well as the Lebanese University (LU).

In a press conference held by the Ministry of Higher Education, Diab underscored the importance of giving the cabinet a fair chance to settle the issue of the LU.

“The LU professors’ strike is not constructive”, Diab said, hoping that the second round of exams will go through for the sake of the students.

“I am a technocrat minister and my only loyalty is to my country”, Diab added. Diad stressed his commitment to the five-year plan passed by the cabinet during his predecessor Hassan Mneimneh’s tenure.
