Jumblatt: "Syrian 'solution' overshadowed by the ghost of death"

Head of the National Struggle Front bloc MP Walid Jumblatt said on Monday that the speech of the Syrian president Bashar Assad at the Damascus Opera House "resonated away from reality seemingly since the president repeated what he said in previous speeches at the outbreak of the crisis."            


Speaking to Al-Anbaa newspaper, Jumblatt said that "defection from reality has reached advanced stages since the steps that were proposed yesterday referred to as ‘the political initiative to get out of the crisis’ are nothing but distorted duplicates."              


“The new constitution, formal reforms, referendum, and elections were all previously implemented on the expense of the Syrian people and over the ruins of villages and towns that witnessed systematic and organized destruction,” he added.   
                    

Jumblatt called on various Lebanese parties to think wisely instead of waiting for the results of the Syrian crisis and added that he who considers that the end of the crisis is soon, is mistaken.              


“The Syrian situation is similar to a drama drawn by the spectator of death at the Damascus Opera House,” he concluded.
