Future bloc reiterates its refusal of the Orthodox gathering law

The Future Bloc stressed on Tuesday that elections should be held on due time in accordance with the constitution.

Following its weekly meeting, the bloc considered that the meetings held by the electoral sub-committee are “indicative of the rival stances of political groups.”

“The reasons behind the support of the Orthodox law are known, but we should not go towards problems posing as solutions,” the bloc said.

The bloc reiterated its refusal of the Orthodox Gathering’s law, considering that “it contradicts with the composition of the country.”

On another note, the bloc called on authorities to put all chaos in Tripoli to an end “by first removing arms as an example for other areas.”

It also denounced all threats made against "living martyr" Marwan Hamadeh, calling on authorities to take immediate action.

On the counterfeit medications scandal, the bloc considered that the fact that it is related to the sibling of a Hezbollah Minister indicates the level of corruption in the government.

“Rampant corruption in this government should lead to its consequent resignation”, the bloc said reiterating that there is no other option but for Hezbollah to hand over its weapons to the government.
