Geagea: Our main objective is the ratification of a just electoral law

LF chief Samir Geagea said on Thursday that his party’s concern is the ratification of a just electoral law that ensures an adequate representation for all Lebanese factions.

Geagea added that the electoral draft law proposed by the Orthodox Gathering is supported by the majority of the parties and can be ratified once voted upon at parliament, emphasizing that discussions will continue in an attempt to pass a law approved by all parties since some parties in March 14 are rejecting the Orthodox Gathering proposal.

Geagea then stressed that conducting the elections according to the 60’s law is "unacceptable".

On Syria, Geagea said that he expects that the situation will remain the same, emphasizing that the Syrian crisis does not have a negative influence on Lebanon, except economically.
