US pledges monetary assistance to Syrian refugees in Lebanon

US Ambassador to Lebanon Maura Connelly confirmed her country’s ongoing support to the Lebanese government on Thursday stating that the US has pledged USD $155 Million in assistance to the Syrian refugees and an additional USD $29 in funding assistance to refugees in Lebanon.

During her visit to the UNHCR in Beirut, Connelly said that the US will continue to support Lebanon alongside other aid organizations in order to provide assistance and shelter to the Syrian refugees.

Connelly then expressed gratitude to Lebanon for hosting an estimated 230,000 Syrian refugees, stressing her country’s ongoing support towards Lebanese institutions, especially those involved in providing assistance to the Syrian refugees in Lebanon.
