Al-Sayyed: Jumblatt is a sectarian dictator

The information office of Maj. Gen. Jamil al-Sayyed issued a statement in response to remarks made by the Head of the National Struggle Front MP Walid Jumblatt who “gave lessons on dictatorship, corruption, crimes, robbery and murder” during a TV interview last Friday.

 “All of these descriptions and characteristics apply to MP Jumblatt”, the statement said.   The statement depicted Jumblatt as the sectarian dictator who intimidates both Druze and non-Druze rivals, accusing him of corruption and the murder of thousands of Christians in the Jabal. 

 “Jumblatt is involved in the assassination of Sheikh Sobhi Saleh and the presidential advisor Dr. Mohammad Chukeir. Jumblatt’s role in the issue of false witnesses and the arrest of the four officers is well known,” the statement said.

The statement slammed Jumblatt for taking advantage of the assassination of former PM Rafik Hariri.  

The statement also blamed Jumblatt for endorsing Arab revolutions where there is no oil and no money and attacking other revolutions where there is oil and money.

“Jumblatt is not clear about what he wants. At times he backs the U.S. and urges it to eradicate the resistance and invade Damascus, and in others he pledges his allegiance to Syria and the resistance, flaunting the fact that he killed U.S. marines in Khaldeh”, the statement said.
