Israeli forces continue constructive works on the Eastern side of the Wazzani River

Israeli forces continued on Tuesday constructions works on a road between the Wazzani River and the Blue Line; the Israel-Lebanon border fence.

Lebanese Armed Forces implemented security measures in the presence of UNIFIL members.

Construction works are expected to last for 1 week in order to open a road that facilitates the access of Israeli patrols to the river.

Construction began on Monday morning at the Eastern side of the Wazzani River, an area considered by the UNIFIL to be inside the Blue Line’s demarcation border.

Two bulldozers, armed vehicles, and more than 25 Israeli members crossed the barbed wire for a distance of 10 to 25 meters.
