Gemayel meets Chinese Ambassador, US Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Near East

Chinese Ambassador to Lebanon WU Zexian said on Tuesday that officials from his country met with representatives of each of the regime and Syrian opposition and asked them to secure a transitional stage the soonest possible and begin a process of fundamental reforms via national dialogue between all Syrian components.

Following his meeting with the Kataeb Party Leader Amine Gemayel, Ambassador WU Zexian called for respecting constitutional institutions in order to hold the elections on their due time.

Gemayel also met with the US Deputy Assistant Secretary (DAS) for the Bureau of Near East Affairs Lawrence Silverman and discussed with him the electoral file and other political issues.

The officials also discussed the Syrian situation and its repercussions on the region.
