March14 delegation meets with Speaker Berri

Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri said that there is no specific date set for the Parliamentary General Authority’s session adding that discussions are still underway.

Berri met on Wednesday at his residence in Ain el-Tineh with a delegation of March 14 figures which included MPs Samir el Jisr, Ammar Houry, Amine Wehbeh, Samer Saadeh, Hadi Hobeiche and Shant Jinjinian.

Following the meeting, MP Jisr said that the delegation presented to Speaker Berri a petition signed by 69 MPs that calls for extending the mandate of security apparatuses’ chiefs adding that the Speaker is with extending the legal age of their mandate.

MP Jisr added that the Parliament's Bureau sets the agenda of the General Authority session and mentioned that it may include the issue of the electoral law.
