Sleiman: Coexistence must prevail

A delegation of Baalbek dignitaries visited on Tuesday the Baabda Palace and met with President Michel Sleiman.      

The delegation, headed by Sheikh Yassine Jaafar, discussed with Sleiman the latest kidnapping incident and the importance of releasing the arrested person from the Al-Jaafar clan.                                   

In this context, Sheikh Jaafar said that they will not cover any persons performing such acts, calling on the Lebanese Armed Forces along with the Internal Security Forces to intensify their measures in order to put an end to these incidents.                             

Sheikh Jaafar stressed the importance of coexistence with neighboring villages and towns and all components of the region adding that clans in the region support President Sleiman in the national role he is playing.                        

For his part, President Sleiman stressed the importance of decreasing the intensity of public reactions so authorities may perform their work pertaining to the release of the the kidnapped and added that authorities are exerting assiduous efforts in this regard.             

Sleiman concluded by saying that laws should be applied on all Lebanese citizens and coexistence must prevail.
