Child falls prey to the Nahr el-Kalb River

The Civil Defense Marine Rescue Unit managed to save the life of 4 year old Syrian child, Ali Hassan Kurdi, after he had fallen into the Nahr al-Kalb River.

In this context, Civil Defense teams said that the child fell as he was playing, adding that the high level of water pulled him 200 meters towards the sea where he was found and rushed to the hospital in a critical condition.

Civil Defense teams issued a warning, calling on citizens to keep a safe distance from rivers and beaches during this period since water levels are on a rise. The Civil Defense also urged citizens to contact their teams by dialing 125 upon the occurrence of such incidents.
