Siniora: Mikati should adopt an unequivocal position
Head of Future Parliamentary Bloc MP Fouad Siniora said on Sunday that “pressure exerted on the cabinet by some sides that are well represented within the executive body vilify the government and reduce its role to referee, preventing it from pressing on with any matter related to the STL.”

Speaking about the STL funding issue, Siniora stressed that “he who does not cooperate with the Tribunal will put Lebanon on a collision course with the international community”, calling on PM Najib Mikati to steer clear of fuzzy positions and rather adopt an unequivocal one.

In response to MP Michel Aoun’s request to hold accountable and dismiss certain employees that he labeled as “corrupt”, Siniora asked “How could he appoint himself a judge, accuse people of corruption and give himself the right to grant people ethics certificates?”

Siniora called on Aoun to reconsider his position and adopt an objective perspective in this regard.
