MP Siniora: Nasrallah's speech drifts Lebanon in a dangerous direction

Head of the Future bloc MP Fouad Siniora slammed on Sunday Hezbollah Secretary General  Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah's speech, saying that it has drifted Lebanon in a “new and dangerous” direction.

MP Siniora's remarks came in a statement whereby he accused Sayyed Nasrallah of supporting the Syrian regime as Iran wants to use Lebanon "as a base in the region."

He also slammed Nasrallah's “excuse” in partaking in the fighting taking place in Syria in order to protect Lebanese people residing in Syrian villages.

Moreover, he said that Hezbollah leader's stances will impact Prime Minister-Designate Tammam Salam's efforts to form a new government.

Sayyed Nasrallah made a televised appearance on Thursday, in which he vowed to support "the Syrian popular resistance” in the Golan Heights.

He also announced that the party is “ready to receive any game-changing weapons from the Syrian regime in order to defend the people in the bordering villages."
