MP Kanaan: Future bloc, PSP not willing to reach consensus

      
Change and Reform bloc MP Ibrahim Kanaan stressed on Thursday that after a trilateral agreement between the Progressive Socialist Party, the Future bloc and the Lebanese Forces, "the Orthodox Gathering draft law has hence transformed into the hybrid law."        

MP Kanaan added that "the LF party is facing a challenge" the Lebanese people must be aware of, i .e the failure to reach an agreement in a bid to preserve national interest, stressing that "they know beforehand their proposal will not pass".       

In an interview with LBCI's Nharkom Said TV Show, MP Kanaan voiced his bloc's concern over the "wrong choices" that were imposed by the Future bloc and the Progressive Socialist Party (PSP) and followed by the Lebanese Forces bloc, noting that those choices will lead to the extension of the parliament's mandate or holding the elections based on the 1960 electoral law, after the abandonment the Orthodox Gathering draft law.          

In this regard, MP Kanaan pointed out that "the Future bloc and the PSP are not willing to reach consensus", adding that "they have been underplaying the Christian community in Lebanon since the inking of the Taif agreement".
