Syrian opposition grants Lebanon 24hrs to end Hezbollah’s intervention

General Commander of the Free Syrian Army, Salim Idris warned on Tuesday that the Syrian opposition will be taking extreme measures against Lebanon’s Hezbollah if the latter did not put an end to its military allegiance with regime forces.

Idris, in a televised speech, addressed Lebanese President Michel Sleiman, the Arab League’s Secretary General Nabil El-Araby, and the United Nations’ Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon asking them to bear their responsibilities and prevent members from Hezbollah from interfering in the Syrian crisis.

“If no action is taken within 24 hours, FSA fighters may ignore my standing order and commence counter operations against Hezbollah bases in Lebanon,” Idris warned.

Idris concluded by saying that Hezbollah has become the dominant force in Syria comprised of 15,000 fighters while regime forces are fading into the background of the battlefield.
