PM Salam condemns ongoing attacks on Tyre and Nabatieh, calls for ceasefire and Israeli withdrawal

Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam said there is “nothing that can justify the ongoing attacks” on the Tyre and Nabatieh regions, the destruction of their historic landmarks, or the continued threats against civilians, including repeated calls for residents to leave their homes and livelihoods, which he described as amounting to collective punishment condemned by international norms and laws.

“This makes us even more committed to the urgent need for a ceasefire, the full withdrawal of Israel from our land, and the extension of state authority over all Lebanese territory, allowing all displaced people to return home in safety and dignity,” Salam said.

He added that Lebanon is continuing to mobilize Arab and international support to achieve these goals, stressing that this is a national duty and a firm right that will not be compromised under any circumstances.
