Bassil says power supply hours to increase this summer

Caretaker Energy and Water Minister Gebran Bassil held on Wednesday a press conference at the Ministry whereby he said that 1900 megawatts of electricity will be generated during the summer season, raising thus the power supply hours to 16, the state-run National News Agency reported.

In this regard, Bassil added that the production of electricity will increase by 50%, despite the growing demand of power resulting from the high influx of Syrian refugees in Lebanon.

The Minister also noted that Lebanon will enjoy 24/7 power by 2015.
