Security situation “convenient and excellent”, Charbel assures

Interior Minister Marwan Charbel said on Wednesday that the security situation in Lebanon is “convenient and excellent”, adding that “the political comfort reflects positively on the general situation in the country.”

Charbel told Voice of Lebanon that “the ministry of interior is following a security plan; the majority of ISF security patrols are civilian and they are on the beat around the clock.”

Commenting on the promotion of officers ranking colonel and above, Charbel explained that the issue is still facing a stalemate due to the intrusion of political calculations, vowing to sign the promotion decrees in the near future.
