Nasrallah: Any war on Tehran or Damascus will lead to a wider regional war
During the Martyrs’ Day ceremony at Sayyed al-Shuhada Compound in Beirut's Southern suburbs (Dahiya), Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said that south Lebanon has become strong, secure, stable, and is no longer anyone’s punching bag. “It is now firmly present in the regional equation”, he said, adding that talking about the possibility of a new Israeli war on Lebanon is intended to intimidate.

On the Lebanese refugees in Israel, Sayyed Nasrallah said that he endorsed the suggestion proposed at the Parliament for it is line with the understanding signed with the Free Patriotic Movement, refusing to say that people fled Lebanon for fear of massacres.

“On May 25, 2000, when the liberation of south Lebanon was completed, there was no bloodshed, except for the resistance’s martyrs, and no one’s dignity was violated”.      Nasrallah called on all the parties to protect the security situation, urging certain political parties and media outlets not to exaggerate the events and to double-check their information before making statements. He added that the LAF must be spared from all these events, for it is an institution that guarantees sovereignty, national unity and security.

On the current government’s performance, Nasrallah said that it is “the government of diversity, discussion, research and dialogue”. “It represents a popular majority; it is not a single opinionated government”. Nasrallah added that the government’s members hold discussions and take decisions without having to wait for text messages or signals from foreign countries.

On Syria, the Hezbollah leader said “I call on all those who are betting on the Syrian regime’s fall to take back their bets for it is a waste of time”.

On Iran, Nasrallah said that it is a strong country with its army, people and unity, and that it cannot fear intimidation or fleets. “Washington wants to make Damascus accept what it never accepted in the past”.

Nasrallah warned that according to realistic calculations, any attack on Tehran or Damascus will lead to a wider regional war.
