Ahdab to LBCI: Sleiman’s visit to Tripoli is symbolic
Former MP Musbah al-Ahdab welcomed President Michel Sleiman’s visit to Tripoli on Sunday, stressing that it is a symbolic visit with a developmental purpose.   Al-Ahdab told Nharkom Said TV show that Tripoli is suffering from chronic problems and needs a development plan to bridge the gaps.

“The problematic situation in Jabal Muhsen and Bab Attabeneh should not stay unchanged”, Ahdab said, slamming attempts to use Tripoli residents as tools for regional powers. Ahdab endorsed the calls that advised Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rai not to visit Tripoli since his recent stances regarding Syria were ambiguous.

“We should not forget that the patriarch is a religious and national icon and should stay in touch with all Lebanese components”, Ahdab said. Speaking on Syria, Ahdab urged all parties to avoid politicization of the issue of Syrian refugees in Lebanon and guarantee that their needs are met. The former Future bloc MP called on PM Najib Mikati to put his promises to help displaced persons into practice.
