Baalbek Festival to host Sound of Resilience Concert on July 5
The Baalbeck International Festival proudly presents under the High Patronage of H.E. General Michel Aoun, President of the Lebanese Republic, and on the occasion of celebrating the Centenary of the Proclamation of Greater Lebanon, “The Sound of Resilience”: One of the first big cultural event and a Premiere in the Middle East after the confinement due to Covid-19.

The concert, which is conceived by Maestro Harout Fazlian and produced by the Baalbeck International Festival, is an act of cultural resilience, unity, and hope.

The Bacchus Temple will harbor history, culture, and arts as the City of the Sun opens virtually its gates for a one-of-a-kind live concert on the evening of July 5, 2020.

“The Sound of Resilience"” will serve as an example for future concerts to be held during the ongoing health crisis. The concert, which follows strict Covid-19 guidelines, will be held without an audience and will be broadcasted live on all local TV channels in addition to Arab and International outlets. It will also be live streamed on the Festival’s social media and other digital platforms.

Being at the crossroad of civilizations, the repertoire mirrors Baalbeck as an amalgamation of national and international genres, Beethoven’s 250thBirthday while highlighting Cultural Heritage, Youth Empowerment and Diaspora excellence.

This non-profit concert is performed by the Lebanese Philharmonic Orchestra with the Choirs of the Antonine University, Notre Dame University and Qolo Atiqo, as well as young Lebanese musicians, under the baton of Maestro Fazlian, with the participation of Rafic Ali Ahmad. The scenography which includes archive photos and visual creations is by Jean Louis Mainguy.

Solidarity acts as the main beauty of this project with a common mission and an exceptional collaboration of different artists and partners who are offering their services without compensation.

Baalbeck International Festival concluded by saying that it intends to reinforce its continuity against all odds, keeping its cultural message alive, firmly believing that culture is not a luxury but a necessity, a resource of sustainable growth and a capital asset in understanding the present and planning the future.
