Mofaz: Hezbollah has high intelligence and technological capabilities

The ex- Israeli military intelligence in Lebanon Chief Shaoul Mofaz said that it is not the first time that Hezbollah uncovers CIA agents in the country as reports from 2008 until 2010 mentioned that several western intelligence cells has been arrested by Hezbollah’s secret services.

Mofaz mentioned that it is the first time that the US administration issues a statement about the critical condition of its secret cells in the Middle East especially after this incident described by Mofaz as being a “severe blow” to the US forces. Mofaz in an exclusive interview to the Israeli Army TV said that Hezbollah has high intelligence and technological capabilities and has doubled its military arsenal which was barely affected in 2006 July War.

He added that Hezbollah possess a very tight security system which means that no individual can join the Party’s ranks without a security background check and to pass through multiple levels and investigation stages.

Mofaz blamed the US for its intelligence failure in the region as he revealed that Bush’s administration provided Seniora’s government with developed spying and tracking tools, adding that Hezbollah was able to lay its hands on these tools and used them to track down CIA agents as well as several intelligence cells.
