Saudi-Iranian meeting despite tensions

Saudi Crown Prince Nayef Ben Abdul-Aziz met with Iranian Minister of Intelligence and National Security Haidar Maslahi in Riyadh to discuss issues of common interests. The head of Saudi intelligence service Prince Muqrin bin Abdul-Azi was present at the meeting.

U.S. officials accused last month elements of the Iranian government of plotting to assassinate the Saudi ambassador to Washington, allegations that aggravated the tense relationship between the United States and the Islamic Republic as well as Saudi Arabia
