Assad to Iraqi delegation: world should know what is really going on

Syrian President Bashar Assad held a meeting on Saturday with Iraqi national security adviser, Falah al-Fayyad and Iraqi MP Ezzat al-Shahbandar during which they discussed recent developments in the region, mainly Syria.

Assad said he appreciates “the genuine efforts exerted by certain Arab States, especially Iraq, to help Syria get out of its current situation.”

The Syrian president confirmed that Syria dealt positively with all the presented proposals since “it is in Syria’s interest to let the world know what is really going on amid the twist and distortion of facts that aim at killing any hope for solution.”
